ABOUT

Welcome to Volition Vocational. We are located in Penticton, BC, and serve clients in the Okanagan Valley and British Columbia. It's our calling to serve people who experience barriers and limitations in daily life due to health conditions, disabilities, impairments, illnesses, and injuries. We collaborate and partner with you to improve your functioning, remove or overcome barriers, accommodate limitations, and address your unmet needs and goals. During the process, we assist you on your journey of accessing, maintaining, or returning to work. We provide tools that empower you to decide on and commit to taking action toward achieving your career, employment, and work goals.

 

Evan Johnson is the founder and owner of Volition Vocational. He was motivated to start the company because of his journey and lived experience with the challenges of adapting to health conditions, coping with limitations, and overcoming barriers to achieving educational and vocational goals for quality of life. He is an American Canadian with mixed European and Indigenous American-Mexican ancestry. He acknowledges all his family relations and lineage in over 12 world regions. He is a son and grandson of Veterans of the Armed Forces.

 

Evan is registered as a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP TSA), #1584, with the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals. He is a professional member of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada. He has over 15 years of experience in health care, social service, and government roles, including serving in the line of duty as a law enforcement ranger and emergency first responder. His education includes a Master of Public Administration degree and Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended graduate school in an Occupational Therapy program where he completed 375 hours of supervised clinical fieldwork. He holds a Counselling Skills Diploma with 770-hours of post-secondary education in counselling psychology courses, with over 200 hours of direct client contact and 40 hours of supervision. He is a Certified Health Coach and Behavior Change Specialist with the American Council on Exercise.
